SUPER RECOVERY
SEITAL introduces its high-performance disk separators which can yield increased flow-rates and efficiencies - indeed, a recovery efficiency of more than 99 per cent for catalyst suspension in chemical processes.
Seital solids ejecting disk separators can reach a centrifugal acceleration factor over 15,000g. These high-performance machines are intended for the purification or clarification of liquids, or the recovery of small quantities of special solids when separation results have to be at maximum levels. The ejection of solids is performed by total discharges or precisely controlled partial discharges resulting in a fast ejection action, with drier solids phase, reduced losses of liquid and a continuous separation process. An example of a typical heavy application is as follows:
- Type of separation: liquid/solids.
- Product: suspension at 3 per cent by weight of palladium catalyst in a liquid at 135° C.
- Function: recovery of palladium catalyst.
- Catalyst description: 5 per cent palladium supported by carbon powder.

Self -cleaning (solid-retaining) clarifier for catalyst recovery
- Granulometry:
25 per cent 0 ÷ 10 µm
40 per cent 11 ÷ 20 µm
25 per cent 21 ÷ 30 µm
30 per cent 0 ÷ 30 µm.
A self-cleaning (solids-ejecting) clarifier, model SE601EEX, with motor power of 55 kW (see the photograph above) has obtained the following results:
- Flow rate: 11.000 1/h
- Purity of clarified liquid: residual solids content less than 100 ppm by weight
- Solids recovery efficiency: better than 99 per cent.
